401(k) Program

To assist our employees with retirement savings, JM Staffing is pleased to offer a 401(k) savings program. Employees are eligible to enroll in the 401(k) program 30 days after their date of hire.

Sick Days

JM Staffing’s employees are eligible for three paid sick days (24 hours) commencing after their 90th day of employment.

Direct Deposit

JM Staffing’s employees can also take advantage of direct deposit of their paychecks. This feature is safe, secure, and more convenient than picking up checks in the branch offices or having checks mailed.

FMLA

As part of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), eligible JM Staffing’s employees can receive up to 12 weeks of unpaid time off for qualifying reasons with advance notice and certification. Eligibility begins after one year of employment and 1,250 hours worked in the previous 12 months.

Rest Breaks

JM Staffing requires its employees to take a morning rest break of no less than 10 minutes for every four hours (or major fraction) worked; if practical these breaks must be provided in the middle of the work period; and an afternoon rest break of no less than 10 minutes. Breaks are not required for employees whose total daily work time is less than three-and-a-half hours.

Meal Breaks

JM Staffing requires employees to take a 30-minute meal break once the employee has worked five hours. As your employer, JM Staffing does not have to pay for this time; in other words, meal breaks are unpaid. If the employee’s workday will be completed in six hours or less, the employee may consent to waive (give up) the right to a meal break.

An employee who works ten hours is entitled to a second 30-minute unpaid meal break. If the entire workday will not exceed 12 hours, the employee may waive the right to a second meal break. However, the second break may be waived only if the employee actually took the first break. (In other words, an employee may not waive both breaks in one day.)

If an employee works over 12 hours in one work day, said employee must take a second lunch break of no less than 30 minutes. If the nature of the job prevents employees from taking a break from all duties, employers may provide an on-duty meal period. However, this time must be paid, and the employee must agree to the on-duty break, in writing.
